Michael Schwartz
MD, MSc, FRCSC
Having graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1967, Dr. Schwartz interned at the Hotel Dieu de Montreal Hospital in Montreal, 1967-1968. He entered the Training Program in Neurosurgery at the University of Toronto in 1968, and spent the first two years working towards his M.Sc. graduate degree in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Schwartz became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1974. He joined the Neurosurgical Staff of the Toronto General Hospital from 1975-1979, after which time he became a Staff Neurosurgeon at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre in 1979. He has been Director of the Neurotrauma Program at Sunnybrook since 1986. He is currently Professor in the Department of Surgery and Division Head of Neurosurgery at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre. His clinical and research interests lie in the fields of head injury and radiosurgery of brain tumors and vascular malformations.
