Dr. Giuseppe Papia receives the King Charles III Coronation Medal

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Giuseppe Papia MD, MSc, FRCS(C) on receiving the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal.

Dr. Papia is the J. Ross and Patricia Quigley Chair in Limb Preservation and Associate Professor & Chair, Division of Vascular Surgery at the U of T Department of Surgery. He holds the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM).

In a letter addressed to Dr. Papia, Francesco Sorbar, Member of Parliament for Vaughan-Woodbridge wrote “This distinguished honor underscores your unwavering dedication, hard work, and profound impact on our community and nation. Your nomination by peers and community members reflects the deep respect and appreciation for your valuable contributions.” Adding that “This inaugural Canadian accolade commemorating King Charles' coronation signifies a new era for Canadians and Commonwealth members globally, honoring our rich history and traditions that define our Canadian identity.”
