Thomas Lindsay

Biography:
Dr Lindsay is Professor of Surgery and Chief of Vascular Surgery at Toronto General Hospital part of UHN, Manager of the Toronto Academic Vascular Specialists AFP and Chair of the Vascular Surgery Specialty Committee of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Physician Representative to the Vascular Surgery Steering and Implementation Committees to reorganize Vascular Surgical Services in the GTA. Currently a member of the Vascular Care Working Group of the Cardiac Care Network. He has served as University Division Chair (2003-2014), Vascular Surgery Program Director and Vascular Surgery Fellowship Director at the University of Toronto. Served as a member and Vice Chair of the Examination Board of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Past President if the Peripheral Vascular Surgical Society and the Canadian Society for Vascular Surgery.
Clinical Interests:
All vascular conditions with a special interest in Aortic Aneurysms repair by minimally invasive techniques (EVAR) and open for thoracoabdominal, juxtarenal, abdominal and iliac aneurysms. Therapeutic options in acute and chronic type B dissection. Peripheral Arterial Disease, Carotid artery disease.
Arterial and venous reconstructions that facilitate oncologic procedures (eg. sarcomas, venous tumors.)
Academic Interests:
Pathophysiology of Ischemia reperfusion injury and its clinical consequences. Risk reduction in vascular disease.
