Paul Bernick

Dr. Bernick graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School (9T2) and completed a rotating internship at the Toronto East General Hospital. He entered the Gallie Residency Training Program in General Surgery at the University of Toronto where he graduated in 1998. He completed a one-year clinical research fellowship in colorectal surgery at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and completed a clinical fellowship in colorectal surgery at the University of Toronto. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Dr. Bernick joined the surgical staff of Toronto East General Hospital in 2000. Dr. Bernick is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at The University of Toronto. He is the Division Head, General Surgery, and the Medical Director, Surgical Education at the Toronto East General Hospital. Dr. Bernick’s interests include surgical education, laparoscopic general and colorectal surgery, and therapeutic endoscopy.
