Howard Ginsberg
MD, PhD, FRCSC
Howard Ginsberg is a member of the faculty at St. Michael's Hospital. He is a graduate from the University of Toronto Neurosurgery Program. He is trained in both neurosurgical and orthopedic spinal surgery techniques. He completed a fellowship in spinal surgery with Dr. Joel Finkelstein at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Howard has a degree in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto as well as a PhD in Biomedical Engineering under the supervision of Drs. James Drake and Richard Cobbold. He currently holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery and the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering. Howard's research focuses on engineering applications to neurosurgical procedures with the goal of improving safety and outcome for patients. His current projects include a novel strategy for image guidance in spinal surgery, surgical simulation for the purpose of teaching and pre-operative planning, as well as development of new surgical devices and approaches.
