George Ibrahim entered the neurosurgery training program at the University of Toronto upon completion of his medical degree at the University of Calgary.  During this time, he pursued a PhD through the surgeon-scientist program aimed at studying brain connectivity in children with epilepsy with a view towards the development of novel seizure mapping and therapeutic strategies.  His work earned a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and various awards, including the Governor General of Canada Gold Medal.  Upon completion of a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at the University of Miami, he returned to SickKids where he has an interest in novel surgical treatments for epilepsy, spasticity and functional disorders in children.
