Dylan Pannell

Dr. Dylan Pannell is an attending trauma surgeon at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto.  He is also a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Canadian Armed Forces.  He served overseas during the War in Afghanistan and was decorated for his actions.  After returning he completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Toronto, followed by a Fellowship in Trauma at Sunnybrook Hospital.  He established Canada’s first Trauma Video Review program at SHSC to improve performance and education in trauma resuscitation and patient-centered care. His academic focus is on combat casualty care and surgical education.  Dr Pannell’s military areas of expertise are in austere and forward-deployed trauma care as well as Prolonged Field Care.
