MD, PhD, FACS, FSSO
Dr. Colin Court is an assistant professor at the University of Toronto and a Surgical Oncologist at Sunnybrook’s Odette Cancer Centre with a clinical practice focused on hepato-pancreato-biliary pancreatic and upper gastrointestinal malignancies. He has a special interest in regional therapies such as hepatic artery infusion pump (HAIP) chemotherapy, robotic hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery, and neuroendocrine tumors.
He completed his general surgery residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and his complex general surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York in 2022. After completing his training, he worked at the University of Texas, San Antonio, in the Mays Cancer Center and was the director of the regional therapies program. He subsequently moved to Sunnybrook’s Odette Cancer Centre to start the robotic hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery program.
In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Court completed a PhD at the University of California, Los Angeles under the mentorship of Thomas Graeber in Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology. Dr. Court leads a translational research program focused on organ-specific metastasis, the tumor microenvironment, and regional therapies, integrating spatial transcriptomics, single-cell profiling, and patient-derived models from fresh surgical specimens. His work aims to define biological determinants and optimize surgical and drug delivery strategies for oligometastatic GI cancers.
