Dr. Holloway obtained her medical degree from the University of Western Ontario. She undertook residency training in General Surgery at the University of Toronto, obtaining her fellowship in 1991, and in the same year, earned a PhD from the Institute of Medical Sciences at the University of Toronto. After completing a fellowship in Hepatobiliary Surgery and Transplantation at the University of Toronto, she commenced practice in General Surgery with a focus on Breast Surgical Oncology at Women’s College Hospital and later at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. 
She is presently Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto, Co-chair (Surgery) of the Breast Site Group at the Odette Cancer Centre and Director of the Breast Surgery Fellowship offered through the Odette Cancer Centre and the University of Toronto Department Of Surgery. Dr. Holloway’s clinical practice is devoted to the management of breast cancer. Her research is focused on the development of image-guided techniques in breast surgery and pathology, and the adoption of practice guidelines advocating image-guided techniques for breast cancer diagnosis. She is a past Vice-Chair of the Professional Advisory Committee of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (Ontario chapter), and the current Chair of the Research Advisory Committee of the Canadian Breast Cancer Research Alliance.
