I am pleased to announce that Dr. Bobby Yanagawa (MD) was among the recipients of the University of Toronto's 2025 Arbor Awards.
Dr. Yanagawa is the Residency Program Director and Associate Professor at the Division of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Toronto and Head of Division of Cardiac Surgery at St. Michael’s Hospital.
The Arbor Awards are the University of Toronto's highest honour — recognizing exceptional and longstanding volunteer service. Awardees are individuals who have played an important role in advancing U of T and the Temerty Faculty of Medicine through their contributions as leaders in higher education, research and health care.
According to Temerty Faculty of Medicine: "Yanagawa has had a tremendous impact at Temerty Medicine, as a participant in its Words of Wisdom and Diversity Mentorship programs. His guidance and mentorship have benefited countless students, inspiring a sense of belonging and resilience that extends to the entire Temerty Medicine community."
