Senior academic promotions in the Department of Surgery - July 1, 2025

Dear Colleagues,

Please join me in warmly congratulating our Department of Surgery faculty members who have been promoted to a higher academic rank, following a rigorous review by the Temerty Faculty of Medicine Decanal Promotions Committee. 

For this, we are indebted to the hard-working members of our Departmental Promotions Committee, and to Dr. Earl Bogoch, who until recently so ably chaired the committee. I am deeply grateful to Earl for the countless hours and energy he invested in this effort. 

As you know, Dr. Toni Zhong is now the Chair of the Department of Surgery Promotions Committee, and I know she will lead the committee's important work with integrity and energy. 

I also wish to acknowledge the critical role that staff member Sylvia Perry plays in this process, and thank her for her sustained dedication and personal attention to every file.
