“Does Size Matter in Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm?”

Learning Objectives:

  1. To understand, based on insights from the Dutch Size Matters project, how sex and/or gender may influence thoracic aortic aneurysm diagnosis, disease progression, treatment, prognosis and coping strategies.
  2. To learn in the context of thoracic aortic aneurysm and aortic valve disease the importance of informed shared decision making (M/F), and how microsimulation models can help to translate patient population-based outcome evidence to patient specific outcome estimates.
  3. To get insight into why and how (intersectional) gendered patterns in academic medicine/surgery influence healthcare organisation, decision making and quality of care & research; and to learn about effective measures aimed at creating inclusive healthcare.
