Dr. Blayne Sayed is the Surgical Lead for Liver Transplantation at The Hospital for Sick Children and a staff transplant surgeon at Toronto General Hospital. He completed his fellowship in Abdominal Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is an alumnus of the University of Virginia, completed his MD/PhD at Northwestern University and his general surgery residency at Emory University. In addition to his training at Toronto General Hospital and SickKids, he completed a clinical fellowship year in adult and pediatric liver transplantation at King’s College Hospital in London, UK.
Dr. Sayed’s area of clinical expertise is adult and pediatric liver disease. He is also appointed to the SickKids Research Institute as an Associate Scientist in the Cell Biology Program, with a research focus on T-cell activation in alloreactive immune response.
