Promotions 2011-2012
Process
1. Notify Department of Surgery of intent to apply by MONDAY AUGUST 8, 2011
2. Arrange to meet with Dr. Sender Herschorn [Chair, Departmental Promotions Committee] prior to September 30, 2011 to discuss application. Appointments with Dr. Herschorn can be booked by calling 416-480-5169.
3. Consult with University Division Chair re: coordinating name submissions for external, internal and student referees.
4. Contact Department of Surgery to arrange to have Curriculum Vitae converted to WebCV format.
5. Submit all documents (refer to Promotions Checklist link) to the Department of Surgery by TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 6, 2011.
6. Departmental Promotions Committee assesses all applications and determines which applications will proceed to the next stage of the promotion process. Candidates will be contacted if further documentation is required OR if the application will be deferred until a future date.
7. The Department of Surgery contacts referees for required reference letters.
8. Departmental Promotions Committee reviews all referee letters and determines if application will proceed to the Decanal Promotions Committee.
9. Department of Surgery submits applications to the Faculty of Medicine in mid-January.
10. Decanal Committee contacts Department of Surgery if any additional documents are required.
11. Decanal Committee determines which applications will be forwarded to the Provost’s Office for final deliberations.
12. Applicants are informed mid April – mid May of outcome of the application.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring that their promotions application is complete.
All applicants must submit 1 electronic copy (flash drive / CD) and 1 hard copy (single sided, not stapled).
Updates to CVs, Data Summary Sheets, CPA dossiers will be accepted until November 15th, 2011.
