Dr. Abdollah Behzadi graduated from McGill University, Faculty of Medicine, in 1995. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada after completing McGill General Surgery Training Program in 2000. In 2001, he was certified by the American Board of Surgery and subsequently became a fellow of American College of Surgeons. He completed his thoracic surgery training at University of Manitoba where he also obtained a master of business administration in 2003. He has advanced fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Thoracic and Gastro-esophageal Surgery from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
Dr. Behzadi’s current areas of special expertise include minimally invasive surgery for the lung, mediastinum, esophagus, stomach, and hyperhidrosis. He is a thoracic oncologist at Peel Regional Cancer Centre and a thoracic surgeon at Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga. He serves as the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education in the Division of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is an education lead in surgery at Mississauga Academy of Medicine. He is a member of many professional societies including, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, European Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons, and Canadian Society of Thoracic Surgeons. He also serves as a peer assessor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and is a member of Lung Site Group, Cancer Care Ontario.
